The level doesn't slip when holding with one hand and is very accurate. Before I started drilling into concrete I measured for spacing then used the level to mark each hole and to make sure the line was level.
I never had a problem with slippage, so when I had to use one hand to grab a pencil or tool the hold was right where I set it. The shelves came out perfectly level and I didn't even have to use the targets.
This level is worth the cost for more tasks than advertised. I used the level to line up the brackets before drilling.
So, this level is very reliable and can be used for any task. The grip alone is worth the cost.
I recently installed shelving on concrete walls that measured 6 feet in length.
THIS made the process easier than easy. This was a great gift for her since he hated make me do extra work. The beauty of this level are the sliding cross-hairs to either side of the middle. If you plan on doing some redecorating, add this to the list. The cross-hairs stay in place so that you can place the level on the wall and mark exactly where you need to drill/nail. My wife and I initially saw this on a TV commercial.
At 3 feet, it can tackle most sized pictures and floating shelves. I even like it more than getting out a tape measure, making distance marks on the wall and then leveling those marks. Both of our jaws dropped. The Gecko Grips are little spring-loaded, non-slip pads that help hold the level to the wall while you mark the wall through the picture guides. The payoff in time alone will make up for it. Hers because she had just spent a few weeks painting and now has to hang a few dozen pictures and shelves back up; mine because now I would not have to go back after her and fill in "mistakes" with spackle.
You hold the level over the item to be hung on the wall and slide the cross-hairs over the spaces where you would need nails/screws in the wall.
This is the level you want to hang anything on the wall right the first time.I bought this for my wife so no more hole repairs she gets it right the 1st time,no measuring just mark and your ready.
THANK YOU FOR BULDING AND HAVING SUCH GREAT PRODUCTS AVAILABLE. I WHICH THIS HAD BEEN OUT A LONG TIME AGO. I WILL DEFINATELY BE USING www.amazon.com MORE OFTEN WITH PRODUCTS LIKE THIS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A GREAT PRODUCT TO HAVE AROUND THE HOUSE. I HAVE USED IT A FEW TIMES WITH FANTASTIC ARRCURCY.
Hubby put it on one side, it said that it wasn't level bubble on the left, flipped it over and it still wasn't level but the bubble was on the right. FIL has only used his to hang pictures but he's going to check his out over the weekend. I bought the 36" Accu-Mark level for both my husband and FIL for Christmas. There's no obvious curving, rocking or other damage indicators. We borrowed another 36" level from a neighbor to check it out as well. Oh, and Black & Decker is difficult to get a hold of (phone only - no email) so their 2 year warranty might be up before we can actually talk to someone about this problem (I have the 800 number but I don't have time to sit on hold for more than 20 minutes at a time). both loved the concept and I'm sure it would be a great product if it were actually leveled. We started using it for a big project 2 weeks ago (replacing kitchen cabinets) and noticed that it wasn't in agreement with our other shorter (12") level.
